The food, service, and overall atmosphere were all good. However the portions were small and everything was overpriced. I went with a party of four and we all left with the same experience. It was good but not worth what you got and the price you paid for it.

Great place to go in PH for conversation and to catch up with friends. Plus, it's the only bar in town that's SMOKE-FREE!! Which gives it major, major points. Unfortunately, I think once the entire state goes smoke-free in May, they're going to go out of business fairly soon. I hope this isn't the case (although I do hope they lower their drink prices!) Why? Compared to the places in close proximity (Roche Bar, Hollisterz, Rum Rummers) the drinks are more expensive. But I guess you're paying more for the ambiance and feel of the place which is much more relaxed and easier to carry on a conversation in any of those bars. You don't have to yell at your friend sitting 2 feet away from you. The food is pretty decent, I had the pizza there once and have heard from others that they have a pretty good menu. The drinks are pretty strong. The owner (Jeff) is SO nice and is always making changes to the menu. The thing I like about this place is that on any given night, you can walk in and see people anywhere from 21-70. Unfortunately, if you show up after about 9:30, it's completely packed and damn near impossible to find a table or a seat at the bar. This would be a perfect place to take a first date after dinner.

Best food in port Huron unless you belong to the golf club (I don't). Fantastic building and incredible food. They have an upper deck. Service was great as well. No weak spots which is unfortunately rare in this town
(5)Dave D.
Stopped in for lunch today; the salad with salmon was one of the best salads I've ever eaten. If they are open before I leave town tomorrow, I am going back for another one. My sister-in-law, who is local, said that her friends call it the "crack salad" because it is so addictive - it's that good. Service was friendly and attentive. They had a very impressive selection of beers on tap, as well, but work prevented me from sampling any, Only complaint was that the brick wall at the end of our booth was dang cold.
(4)Lindsey K.
Great spot for drinks or dinner. It is cool that it is part of the old Arden's department store. If you were a kid of the 80s, your P-town-hip mom probably had an Arden's charge.... I enjoy their wine flights, a great way to try different wines.
(4)Jesse C.
Excellent gathering place for friends and family. Loved the chocolate martini.
(4)Leslie R.
What a great place! A wonderful beer selection, great food, nice atmosphere and super service. I chose breaded fried asparagus, dill pickle soup and sashimi tuna steak with Dragonmead Final Absolution to wash it all down. Super Yum!!! Food was delish and presentation was awesome. One friend had the Pig Wings and another had the Kitchen Sink Pizza; both were extremely pleased with their selections.
(5)Darrell B.
Great beers on tap that no other bars in Port Huron usually have. A tasty menu that is pretty consistent and the menu usually has something new to try. . A very beautiful building and very nice decor. Great for a group of friends to grab some dinner and drinks.
(4)Jake W.
Some of the best beers in Port Huron are on tap at the Vintage, always the first bar to have Hopslam. Food is good and keeps improving.
(4)Amanda B.
If you want an amazing meal, look no further than the Vintage. This is not just good by Port Huron standards (which are pretty sad if you are any type of gourmand), but could rival any similar venues in more competitive urban areas. Try the filet mignon - not a suggestion but a demand. Not a weak dish on the menu in case you do not feel inclined to live according to rambling yelp reviews... Also? Wine and Beer leaves nothing to be desired = A+.
(5)Rusty B.
FINALLY a decent place to go that has some class in Port Huron
(5)Alexander M.
The Vintage Tavern sports some unique drinks, great food, and a warm, fun atmosphere. The decor manages to tap into Port Huron's industrial-martime past without going over the top. Service can be a bit hurried, but that's more a byproduct of the place's popularity than any oversight of the staff. I've only seen the place busy!
(4)Lori R.
I love this place. I think it is a real shot in the arm for the food landscape in Port Huron. The ONLY reason I cannot give it the full 5 stars is because some of the apps are a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. However, the dill soup is wonderful as is almost everything else on the entree menu. I am happy whenever I go here.
(4)Sandy W.
Port Huron doesn't have a restaurant where you SHOULD dress up, but this is a place where you COULD amp up your look and celebrate a special occasion over well-prepared food and good wine, beer or cocktails. On the other hand, you can go as you are on an ordinary day and feel perfectly welcome. Tall old-brick walls, Nice lighting. Roof-top seating most of the year offers views of the Black and St. Clair rivers. Try the dill soup. Guests of Adventure Inn, our B&B, give the place consistently high marks for food, service and ambience.
(5)Lynne T.
We very much enjoyed this restaurant! Loved the rooftop atmosphere, had great food on tap and the service was great. Everyone was very nice and attentive. Loved the lobster bisque on special (note to poster below: lobster bisque isn't supposed to have big chunks, and it isn't a chowder, so of course no corn or potatoes!). The beef tips were also good and my hubby liked his seared tuna. Very good place, would definitely come again when in the area!

I have had 2 recent meals from the Vintage -- one in the restaurant, and one take out. Both were disappointing. Previously I would have given the Vintage a 4 rating, but the food is now lackluster and "GFS"-like, and the prices are high considering the quality. Surroundings are nice but the food is definitely mediocre.

Fair warning, don't go to the Vintage Tavern if you don't have time to have at least a few conversations with the locals to go with your dinner & drinks. The vintage has a wonderful, warm feel that can only come from historic, repurposed buildings - be sure to check out the architectural details in the stamped ceiling and old-fashioned fan system. Cozy booths are perfect for tucking into one of their famous "Wine Trees", either from their red or white wine flights. They have a rotating, seasonal menu that keeps me coming back, along with excellent appetizers. The working wine cellar which can be rented out for dinner parties is especially nice, and I'm looking forward to hosting a wedding rehearsal dinner there soon. You'll sometimes find the owner under the bar instead of behind it, as all historic buildings require some upkeep - but I for one was impressed by such a hands-on approach to a business, which is revealed not only in the food, but also the sense of hospitality that is extended to each and every diner.

What an excellent place to eat at. I was in town for the weekend for a family wedding and this place was recommend. The atmosphere was great and we are on the upstairs patio. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was excellent. We had a party of 8 and everyone ordered something different and everyone loves their meals. One of the owners stopped by our table to see how we were doing - not something we are used to dining in California. What a nice friendly atmosphere! I would highly recommend dining here.

Even though we were here at lunch time in the dead of winter and the deck didn't appear to be open, we were attracted to the Vintage Tavern with the promise of good views. We didn't get to see the view, but we did have a wonderful lunch! The bloody Marys are deeelicious! The dill pickle soup is quite tasty. I had the Angry Shrimp Tapas. If you like spicy, you won't be disappointed. Except I should have asked for a piece of bread to sop up the sauce. Hubby had the special chicken divan and really liked it (despite not being a fan of curry). Even the garden salad was good... a feat for mid-February in Michigan. Looking forward to my next trip to PH!
(4)Rachel K.
Atmosphere = A+ Food = B Waitress = A+ *the reason for the B on food was the poor tasting coleslaw. I did like the raw burger and appreciate that healthy option.
(4)Heather A.
This place is one of the best restaurants in Port Huron in my opinion. The service is great and the food is fantastic, also they go above and beyond to accommodate their customers. The upstairs patio is beautiful and they also have private rooms for special events.
(5)Paul K.
Great food and location . This is the type of place we were looking for when we moved to the area
(5)Kelly P.
Nice atmosphere. Great beer and wine options. Some food is strangely put together and overpriced. I recommend the salmon spread and seared tuna entree. I will be back for that. Wendy is a great server!
(4)Elaine K.
I am almost tentative about writing a review because I am heavily biased. I was really hoping to grab some gross roadie food on the way home to Canada, but it was late and there wasn't really anything open. So we had to "settle" for this upscale brewpub. Service was very very friendly and the atmosphere is really nice. Sort of upscale pubbish. I had the pork wings, which were pretty good, but not mind-blowing. I went for a healthy side of asparagus and was immediately regretful. Should have gone for the much more filling fries. All in all, it was a good experience, just not the one I was looking for. So if you're looking for a sort of fancy night out, this is your spot. If you're looking for a down and dirty place just off the highway that deep fries everything, you're out of luck. Big parking lot across the street.

Went here for dinner with my wife. We sat in the upstairs bar area. I was very impressed with the building, but it's a hike up the stairs to the 3rd floor so wouldn't recommend bringing the grandparents! Food and service was excellent but if your getting drinks and dessert be prepared for a hefty bill. Not somewhere I would go on a regular basis because of price but other than that I have nothing but good things to say about the vintage
(5)Richard H.
The consistency of meals served is their hallmark. The scallops are second to none. Recently had the Red Snapper and it was a wow moment. If you visit in the summer head up to the upper deck for a view of passing ships and a second full service bar. You'll be lucky if you can find a seat up there in the summer. The historic building is worth a second look around. You really need to try the dill pickle soup. It is fun and different.
(5)Clark D.
If the downstairs is at all busy it becomes so voluminous that you can't hear yourself think. The upstairs deck, on the other hand, is very very enjoyable. They have it heated and screened in during winter now. The food quality is rather uneven (My out-of-town friends still laugh about the "cheese plate" being right from grandma's 1960s kitchen). Skip the entrées and go for an appetizer pizza - super thin crust, hot oven and Tarragon! Wish the rest of the menu was that creative
(3)Rayna P.
Can you say Mango-tini?? I can!! The drinks are GREAT! I also recommend the Cranberry wine. The interior is a great place for a beer, or a trendy cocktail. I have never been disappointed. The food is easily one of the best meals you will get in Port Huron. I love that you are comfortable at the Vintage, dressed up or dressed down. For starters: Try the brie ( I would share it. It is big) Meals: The beef tips are amazing and I love the Pig Wings. You don't need dessert just try the Mango-tini! The Vintage Tavern is a must do dinner!

Was in town for the "river walk" dedication, very nice that the south end is still getting some upgrades. I highly recommend you venture down for a stroll, very picturesque. And we needed a decent place to have lunch. Well as nice as Port Huron is over all, unfortunately they do lack in the restaurant selection area. The Vintage Tavern has many of the right elements. Very clean and snazy decor. Decent menu, prices are not to far off the scale, (for the area a tad high) but the clientele they are after seems spot on. Service was decent to good. We sat on the roof top/patio, this is the spot folks, beautiful views of the marina and some decent views of the area in general. The lower area was completely empty, all the customers choose the patio, with good reason, the weather was perfect and it happened to be on a Friday afternoon. I am a drinker, so were the people I was with, so we drank. The beer selection was adequate and the prices on beer was fine. I even powered down a few cocktails, decent pour, and at a moderate price. Now for the food. We all had something different, I dabbled in a few of the starters, and even had a bite or two of others main courses. Everything came out very fresh, hot and presented well. Portions were on the medium size, and the flavor was there. Not incredible, but good. I had the seared tuna, was very sketchy, but turns out it was spot on. They even provided me with chop sticks when I asked for them. (you might be surprised how few places have them) It wants to be an upscale pub style eatery, it has everything but the upscale flavor, close, but no cigar. However, Port Huron is well, sorry, Port Huron, no offense, not a lot of choices, yet. Maybe some folks will see the opportunity of this southern area potential and contribute to the revitalization effort? I did see these "folks" at the Tavern so who knows.

What can I say: I wanted this place to be great - the location was fantastic and we enjoyed the rooftop view. Service was friendly. But the food - it was just kinda weird and difficult to eat. I tried the dill pickle soup because hey, you'll never see that again. It was a mild cream soup with minced dill pickles in it - kinda one-note like you would imagine dill pickle soup to be. Could have used some gruyere or maybe fresh corn. But something to tell your friends about. My friend ordered the halibut and the presentation was great, but the dish was off-putting to say the least. Who douses fish in a cheese sauce? I tried a bite and couldn't get it down - there was something really strange and strong-tasting in it, like burnt medicine-tasting herbs. I had the pretzel-encrusted walleye and it just did not taste good. The crust had an artificial, almost graham cracker-sweet taste like crumbs from my kid's car seat, and the polenta underneath was actually done well but was cheesy and overpowered everything. The pickled onions or whatever they were tasted chemically. It was just too much work to eat.

One of my favorite spots in the City. The upstairs bar has a great view of the water. Food and drinks are excellent. I've enjoyed the dill pickle soup, breaded fried asparagus, vegetarian rice bowl, and cajun chicken tortellini. The build your own salad is a great lunch option. Portions are on the smaller side, but it's the right amount of food. You leave feeling satisfied and not overly stuffed. The wine flight is fun for happy hour with 4 different wines, choice of all white, all red, or mixed. Service has always been friendly.
(5)Danny K.
This place is fantastic! A great outdoor space on top of the building with beautiful views of the water and downtown Port Huron. The food was excellent and the service was great. Will definitely be coming back!
(5)Cecelia K.
Really great food although be cautious when letting them know of a food allergie that they actually listen to you . Prices are higher then I feel they should .I feel your paying more for the decor of the place then the food . I have to say thou it was still a nice dinner there.
(4)Tabitha M.
Cute place, decent service, hit and miss wine list, homemade food.
(4)Deborah R.
I came here yesterday afternoon to write my final paper for a class I am finishing up. Between the time I arrived and the time I stepped out the door was about 5 hours, a Brie appetizer (not so good, but good looking), a pizza appetizer (really good, not so good looking), lobster bisque (very good, very good looking), an array of wines(a decent chardonnay-a delicious reisling-a delicious cranberry red that I ended up buying a bottle of to take home), and a beer (light colored- tasted like a tamale). The whole duration of my sit the service was great, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Although around lunch was the absolute best time to stop in. Im definitely going back for their bisque sometime soon!
(4)Megan R.
If local businesses what to learn about customer service and genuine concern for the experience of the guest...take notes from Jeff, the owner of the Vintage!! This is my favorite place to come when visiting family and friends in Port Huron! Great atmosphere, awesome wine selections and excellent food!
(5)E Y.
Rooftop seating was excellent. There was a t-storm coming through and the light show was fantastic from there! The food and service were much better than average. I asked about the dill pickle soup because we have never heard of it before. The waitress then brought me a sample tiny bowl. It was quite good. I had the walleye which was excellent. I would come here again if ever through Port Huron.
(4)Brandon Y.
Amazing looking bar. The upstairs on a clear day is gorgeous. Beer selection was good, service was great. We were looking for a bar to watch a Michigan state game on the way through the border and this bar was perfect. The atmosphere is perfect.
(5)Molly S.
The food was great! I have to say the scallops were some of the best I have ever had. I loved the rooftop seating. I so enjoyed my evening dining alone while traveling for business. I would say more choices on glasses of wine would have been awesome. The reception I got from the waitresses was a little cold shoulder but hey I was in from Texas. Really enjoyed my evening!
(4)Carrie F.
We saw reviews for this place, we are giving it a GREAT review ! Stopped in for a late lunch, ended up back there for a late dinner on a Saturday ;-) First, the dill soup was delish! It's Dill Pickle Soup, no if's, and's, buts about it, clean and simple. My husband ordered the filet, I had the Build Your Own Salad, the salmon and filet were both cooked perfectly. I mean PERFECTLY. Fixings were stellar as well... Cocktails were good, the had Captain Morgan's Private Stock AND Sailor Jerry's, WHAT?!? So good we went back, split the Beef Tenderloins with Sweet Potatoes, again terrific! We also tried the Red Wine Flight and Dolce Flight... We will always stop at the Vintage Tavern when possible in the Port Huron Area!
(5)Michael P.
Had dinner there recently. A very unique place. Great place for dinner and a drink w/o kids. Both food and drinks are excellent. I've had the Pig Wings both times I've gone and can highly recommend them. You will spend a little more than the chain restaurants in town but it is truly worth it. The next we go I am definitely sitting on the roof to check it out.
(4)Jamie S.
I used to come to this place every time i went to Port Huron. I went there last night and will not be returning. Upon walking in all the waitresses were a little brain scattered. A hostess was at the front when we walked in and instead of greeting us she just walked away and went to another table to give them menu's. I understand you're busy but you could at least greet us. Then another woman came over to us asking how many, and another woman just started talking to her and her attention shifted away from us mid conversation because she couldnt wait 20 seconds until we were seated. We wanted to sit upstairs and they didn't know the time but told us to ask the bartender about the wait time. We went to have a drink at the bar and the bartender was nothing but rude. We asked if she knew the wait time and see said "No, I forgot my periscope." So we both look at her confused and she looks at us and says "...you don't know what a periscope is..." Then we asked her if they have any drink specials and her response was "they're all special." We tried clarifying and asking if there are any special prices, and she said "they're all special prices." I'm sorry but what kind of rude service is this? We're customers and don't need your smart a** remarks. We each had one over priced drink and just left. Will never come back here again.

Ya wanna hear a Cinderella Story? Too bad, here it is. Been on the road from Joliet (home), working through mid MI. Last night (not tonight), put me in bed 2 hour late, with no dinner, a crappy hotel, and pulled over to boot. Not a good one for MI. I tell you that, to tell you this. Pulled into Port Huron today, beat and hungry. Looked on Yelp, to find something good, this place came up. Showed up about 9:30, to a busy place, nice atmosphere, comfy place. No spots at the bar, ashame, I like a bar seat, anyway, ordered a beer, got it, asked for a menu, and was told, "here you go, kitchen is closing, it's down to burgers, and brie". Nicer than that, but close enough. Told Her I'm thinking I'm going to have to leave and find dinner, burger ain't it. She said, "gimme your order I'll see what I can do". (I'm bad, she was so much nicer than I'm sounding.. beer..) Told her I saw the the pig wings, and the beef tips, that sounded good, (the guy with me had the same) so 4 whole meals, already off the menu for the night. Kathy said "I'll see what he says". Bout 10 minutes later a fresh beer shows up, and she says dinner will be in a few. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! All 8 courses, served perfect, hot, and with a smile. Not even kidding. Jeff the owner came out from the kitchen to make sure we were happy. I honestly couldn't give these guys a higher rating. Oh, asked for some desert to go, left with a marscipone (so bad even spell check can't fix it) cheese, lemon cake raspberry drizzle cake (basically raspberry tira mi su), and a peanut butter cup cake, that both are actually still delicious, but won't be much past this post. Check em' out, 2 thumbs up for sure.
(5)Aaron A.
Good atmosphere... Terrible service! Tried to come for lunch, stood in the entryway for 10 minutes and was greeted by nobody. One waitress looked at me from across the way then scurried into the back. Decided to try again for dinner. Seated myself, ordered the vegetarian rice bowl then waited 45 minutes for my food. I'm glad I don't live here
(2)David H.
Great local restaurant. Had the rib eye. Well cooked and very tinder. The waitress was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Ambiance is quiet and easy to have an intimate or business discussion in. Trying dessert they say it's made here. Wow banana bread pudding. Worth the trip. I will be back.
(5)Terry D.
Yet another place with a cool interior nice ambiance but average food. The menu is small and I find myself flipping it over and over hoping more choices will appear. Along with the short menu, the sides are pretty uninteresting. Beef tips with sweet potato chips? My GF had the scallops which she reported were ok but a little flavorless however the Dill pickle soup was good. I had the Spicy shrimp Tapas. It was ok but a couple of the shrimp had an off taste which made me think they were near the end of their useful life. Food is just ok but this is the best Port Huron has to offer for upscale ambiance. I'd go to hang out on the rooftop or at the bar, but probably won't be a regular for dinner.
(3)Jess P.
This place had the feel of a four-star establishment but my boyfriend and I were pretty disappointed in the food. The waitress made me feel uncomfortable when she kept talking specifically to my boyfriend and touched him in a flirtatious manner while ignoring me. She managed to fill his water glass up but not mine. It wasn't until I said, "I am taking him out tonight" that she quickly shifted her attention over to me. Too bad it wasn't until after we received the bill. There were a few things aside from the waitress that upset me. The soups, dill pickle and lobster bisque, were so pureed that I felt as if we were eating sauces. The only body the dill pickle soup had was the bits of pickle... no potato, nothing but pickle and cream essentially. The lobster bisque had NO pieces of lobster in it. No corn, no potatoes... just basically lobster-flavored cream sauce. When I got it it had obviously been sitting a while since the cream thickened to a lovely skin on top. Oh, and if you want a cup order a bowl... they are tiny. I was disappointed to find out that the tortellini come "from Gordon's [Food Service]." Another thing that probably came from GFS? A good guess would be the burgers. We both ordered burgers. We both asked for ours cooked medium. They were both well done, but not in a good way with a nice sear.... the way that the grill was set too low and it was cooked too long... we both ended up with dry, flavorless burgers. Couldn't they even salt and pepper these things? Then the waitress didn't come back for about 15 minutes, but we would have both liked mayo to moisten the suckers in some way.... so by the time we got mayo our gritty burgers were cold. Just a frustrating experience. I would have rather had greasy spoon food (by the way, I NEVER get sick from food and there was something very wrong with my stomach after this experience). The best thing about this place? The $2.75 PBR on tap. Yeah, it is seriously that bad.

I do really like The Vintage. I like what they've done for downtown. I don't feel like they are a great value for the price though. I was in a party of 4, looking for a spot for a couple drinks and snacks. This wasn't the place for that. Drinks were pricey and there weren't really any good apps to share between us all. The service was ok. My husband waited a while and had to remind the wait person to bring his drink. She forgot one of four drinks, when that was all we ordered at the table. We have eaten dinner here in the past and the food was very good. But, again, priced a little high for what you get.
(3)Christina G.
A great place in Port Huron. We always end up finding friends at the Vintage and pushing tables together. A great place for wine and food. Since the roof is open, and weather is improving we will be spending alot more time there! Classy, simple menu, and great wine or beer. Good service.
(5)Patrick C.
Great ambiance and the braised short ribs were phenomenal. Best place to eat in Port Huron.
(5)Stephanie K.
Quick disclaimer: I used to work here so I'm a little biased, but the Vintage is definitely the best Po Ho has to offer. I left town a few years ago, but I always try to make it back to Vintage whenever I'm back home. The Vintage Tavern is a local favorite in this small town and this helps to create a very pleasant dining experience. Come for a fabulous dinner and GREAT wine! (save lunch for the outside deck at Quay Street down the road). Jeff & Herb usually make a few seasonal changes to the menu, but all of the entrees are consistently well-prepared once you work somewhere, you're going to end up trying at least 75% of the menu! :) That being said, I would recommend the halibut (honestly melts in your mouth!) or the pig wings if you're not a seafood lover, and make sure to try the sweet potato chips/fries. The place turns into a lively bar for the 20-something crowd after 10pm, but usually has a pretty classy crowd for dinner. **If you are a wine-lover and looking for something exotic, ask for Jeff and he will be happy to suggest something to pair with your entree. This guy really knows his wine. For non-winos, VT also has a nice mix of beer on tap. Food / drink prices may seem a tad steep for the mid-west, but if you are visiting from any urban city and appreciate great food, you won't mind a bit.
(4)Lindsey B.
We went here for a post-funeral lunch with all of our family. They had a seat reserved for us (on the main floor, next to the bar in the corner) We ordered the cheese platter, which comes with cheese, salami, deli mustard and I think some crackers? We ordered a couple of those for our group of 10. We all ordered something different for our main lunch course. I had the halibut, topped with parm and served with seasonal veggies, which happened to be asparagus. The halibut was a very generous portion with great flavor. We all had a drink, I was drinking the Riesling. Everyone liked their entree, whether it was the pizza or salad. Whenever I'm back in P-town, I will definitely head over to The Vintage.
